La Bodega Negra

La Bodega Negra entrance

La Bodega Negra is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants/bars in Soho. And this time I finally managed to take some photos! Which is quite difficult due to the dim light.
Don't get confused La Bodega Negra has two locations, there is the LBN café and there is the LBN restaurant. The café is on the ground-level (Moor Street) and offers lovely Mexican food and drinks, it's nice but not that exciting. The downstairs restaurant (Old Compton Street) is the main place and I love it. It is hidden behind the doors of a sex shop, so don't worry you really enter a restaurant. The atmosphere and the music is always great, the food is delicious and the drinks are strong. The moody lightning and the decor creates a special kind of ambience and also the people at La Bodega Negra are chic and cool but in a casual way. It's definitely the perfect place to enjoy some drinks, good music and Mexican food. Actually, the atmosphere is better than in most nightclubs, as people are relaxed and not all tarted up. Nothing new, but worth a post!

Light Show

The Light Show at Hayward Gallery shows fascinating light artworks in form of installations and sculptures. The exhibition features 22 different artists from 1960 onwards, who want to show the powerful effect of light on human psychology and its possibilities as a sculptural medium.

It is an fascinating experience for visitors, the Light Show enables them to sense light in all its forms and colours.

I think it is an impressing exhibition. Artificial light can manipulate our senses and reconfigure our experience of space. Some installations and sculptures were very catching and thought provoking, others were not really for my liking. Have a look and get a ticket for the Light Show and experience the beauty of light.

Exhibition runs until 06. May

Tricolore Dinner For Two

Linguine al pesto

Who doesn't like Italy and their food...fresh pasta, ciabatta, pizza, olives...and all the fresh vegetables. Unfortunately I can't just travel to Italy right now, therefore Italy has to come to London (at least the food). I made my favorite tricolore salad and some delicious and simple linguine al pesto

Mozzarella, Parmesan, tomatoes, avocado, pine nuts, olive oil, linguine and basil leaves

halved tomatoes with chopped basil and mozzarella pieces...

...with green salad, avocado, black olives, olive oil, vinegar and lemon juice. Done!
Pasta!

& Other Stories Opening

Finally! Today was the big opening of & Other Stories in London, Regent Street. I was pretty excited if the shop and cloths are amazing - as promised. Let me start with the store design: the store has two spacious floors. The interior is simple, with white wooden and metallic elements, actually an industrial looking interior. Shoes, cloths, accessories, beauty products are well presented, very nice and unique. The cloths are typical Scandinavian, minimalistic and clean. A lot of whites and blacks, but also vibrant and neon colours. Black dresses, metallic skirts, pink knitwear, leather trousers, super nice underwear and more. Accessoires are as well as the cloths simple and clean. Pink and beige leather bags, mint green satchel bags, millions of must-have clutches from metal to leather. And other leather goods as iPhone cases, key rings and travel accessories. Jewellery, of course! Shoes, shoes, shoes!

My conclusion
I like
the cloths and accessories, especially the bags they have,
the fact that you can literally buy everything from beauty products to underwear,
the simple Scandinavian chic,
and that it is reasonably priced! I think & Other Stories has done pretty well!

To get an impression of & Other Stories have a look at the photos my friend (who loves the shop as well) and I took

Next time, when it is less busy and not half of London is queuing infront of the changing rooms I will definitely buy and try more
