Brick Lane Market

Brick Lane Market is a traditional market in East London with a big choice of vintage clothes, furniture, bric-a-brac, bargain food and edgy people. You feel like in a complete different world as soon as you are in East London (Shoreditch). The houses look different and people are dressed ways edgier and less fancy. On Brick Lane Market you find clothes, furniture and food stands on the street as well as in small indoor halls and shops. My favorite clothes and accessories shop is The Laden Showroom, they have a big choice of different independent fashion labels for every style.

If you love vintage cloths, cheap & good food and music you should definitely visit Brick Lane Market. Opening times are sundays from 8 am to 3 pm.

The Breakfast Club

...good morning lazy Sunday, I could really need a good breakfast right now.

A good place to have breakfast is definitely The Breakfast Club. I have been there quite often so far, there are several branches, one in Soho, Liverpool Street, Hoxton and an other one in Angel. I mostly go to the one in Soho and here you need a lot of patience. At the weekends the waiting time can be really long, people are queuing round the corner. The things we do for a good breakfast.
Although it is called The Breakfast Club, they are not only serving breakfast. They have delicious burgers, wrap and sandwiches.

Here are some of my favourites: Apple and cinnamon french toast, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, avocado with poached egg, pancakes with berries and vanilla cream...and even the classic eggs florentine are great.

The place itself looks quirky and retro...photos on the wall, toys on a shelf and vintage street signs. It is definitely not chic! I heard that some people where not very happy about the staff, but I only had friendly waiters so far...

If you like good good breakfast and don't mind waiting...let's go!

Bar Nightjar

Fancy a drink?

Then I know the perfect place: Nightjar in Shoreditch.
Nightjar is a cocktail and music bar with amazing live bands. The cocktails are excellent, really unique and delicious. You can see that the bartenders do their job with so much passion, every cocktail seems like a piece of art. I guess that is the reason why we waited quite long to get our drinks, but as soon as you have the first sip you forget about the long waiting time.

The interior and the atmosphere makes you think you are back in the late 50s, early 60s: black leather sofas, almost no lights, a tin-panelled ceiling, plus the jazz, blues and swing music. Even the people there looked a bit retro, the boys wore vintage suits and had the typical James Dean haircut, the girls with pencil skirts and blouses in pastel colours.

A really original bar, where you can enjoy delicious drinks and a nice ambience. Furthermore it is the third best bar in the world 2012.

Hoxton Hotel

If you are visiting London the "Hoxton Hotel" is the perfect place to stay. It is a modern hotel in East London with a really nice bar and restaurant. I stayed there once last year and the rooms are very comfortable and generous, especially for the cheap price. For breakfast you find a small bag filled with fruits, yogurt and a fresh orange juice hanging on your door in the morning. The bar and the restaurant "The Hoxton Grill" are really nice as well, definitely worth a visit. During the weekends the bar is packed with stylish Londoners who are having their drinks and nibbles there.
