What a View...Sushisamba London

I guess I'm not disclosing a secret, when I tell you that the view from Heron Tower is just stunning, but this view combined with some mouth-watering food really makes the perfect evening.

I've been there twice now for dinner, and it was absolutely tasty. The dishes are very creative and original. I'm a big fan of sushi and there are definitely a lot of good places in London in terms of high quality sushi. But besides the quality, Sushisamba offers so many interesting varieties of taste. It's hard to decide what to eat, as everything on the menu sounds delicious. I can only recommend to try some of their Samba Rolls, instead of ordering the classic California Maki or the like. Why not try Strawberry Maki with sweet potato or shrimp thempura with quinoa and shishito...!?

For those you haven't been there yet, I took some photos, which speak louder than words....

Miso Black Cod...one of my favourites!

The view from the 38th floor is really amazing and I cannot wait for summer when it's finally warm enough to sit outside... Don't forget to have a look upstairs, where the bar and Duck & Waffle is located.

Ps: It's recommendable to book in advance for dinner

Let's do Brunch

Are you having plans for the weekend yet? The weather is going to be lovely this weekend so you should definitely make the best out of it. A little walk through Regent's Park up to Primrose Hill is amazing when the weather is nice, but before you need some energy. Brunch is the perfect start to the day, and I got some good ideas where to go this weekend

The Riding House Café: modern all-day brasserie

If you are looking for a large brunch menu full of choice, that's the place to go...At Riding House Café a modern European restaurant in the heart of Fitzrovia, they have everything from healthy fruit platter with greek yogurt, over buttermilk pancakes, to scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. The sizes are quite big....although, I've been there quite often now and the sizes always varied, but it was always enough. I love how they present the food, everything is lovely decorated and the smoothies come in little jars. Definitely a nice place for some delicious brunch.

Where? Fitzrovia, Great Titchfield Street

The Good Life Eatery: the healthy option

Further west in Chelsea, there is The Good Life Eatery, a tiny little healthy deli where you can have amazingly healthy dishes. Even if they don't serve proper brunch, they have a lot of super good superfood dishes, which are the perfect start to the day. After eating at the Good Life Eatery you will feel all healthy and fueled for the day. Treat yourself with some clean salads and sandwiches like the quinoa, sweet potato and kale salad or salmon and avocado on full grain bread. Also the cake is lovely presented on the counter, including some gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free options. It's the perfect place for health-conscious food lovers, who want to have a healthy start to the day and fuel up their bodies with some good stuff. For more photos check out this two lovely blogs:  whiskers & lions and the beauty guide.
PS: most people I've seen there were wearing their Nikes and a sports outfit, seems like it's the place to go after your workout.

Where? Chelsea, Sloane Ave

The Providores: something different - fusion brunch

The Providores in Marylebone is a small and intimate restaurant, where they serve everything from international breakfast in the morning to tapas in the evening. (They also do some very good wines from New Zealand.) To understand the menu it needs quite a lot of concentration and food skills, as probably not everyone is familiar with all the ingredients the dishes contain. Anyways, just go for the dish that sounds the most attracting to you, you won't get disappointed. I tried lots of their dishes and every one of them was very interesting and super delicious. Sometimes it can be quiet an exciting moment when the food arrives though, as I almost never know what exactly I have ordered. Last time we had turkish eggs with yogurt for brunch, which I have never eaten before but they were delicious!  I can really recommend this place if you are looking for some new taste inspirations in terms of brunch.

Where? Marylebone, Marylebone High Street

Hello Summer

It's ways to early to think about summer. In theory. But what could be a better working motivation than thinking about summer already now?! Long and warm summer evenings, short dresses, beautiful bikinis, pretty sandals, cool sunnies...life is just so much better in summer. To motivate myself a bit, I have created a collage with my favourite summer accessories.

Must-have swimwear from Eberjey (to die for!), Sunglasses: left side, both from MiuMiu and on the right side PradaLomography Camera Diana and the Coco Shampoo from Bumble and Bumble

Well Being Essentials

Here are some of my favourite things which will make you happy(ier).

1. Make yourself a Home Sweet Home

Nothing is more important than feeling well at home, and some tiny essentials can already change how comfortable you feel at home. For example...treat yourself with a scented candle of high quality. At Selfridges or Liberty they have a large selection of some nice candles. My favourite one is the Amber-scented candle from Diptyque. But also Jo Malone and Cire Trudon do some very lovely candles.

2. Treat yourself

My collage includes products by Aesop, Cowshed, Bee Yummy, Kiehl's, Bumble&Bumble, L'Occitane, Elemental Herbology

High quality cosmetics, make-up and care products are the essential thing to make you feel better. Your skin will thank you, when you always check the list of ingredients of your products. Sometimes good products can be a bit of an investment (not always though), but it's so worth it! I am a big fan of natural skin care like Anne Marie Börlind. Paraben- and fragrance-free. And what really improves my mood, is a nice smelling soap, hand or body cream. I love the ones from L'Occitane, Aesop or Cowshed

3. Get a Good Night's (Beauty) Sleep

Sleep well essentials: Sleep Wear: Wildfoxcouture; Cat Sleep-mask: Charlotte Olympia; Wake me for coffee sleep mask by Mary Green; Lavender Spray: Bumble&bumble; Candle: Diptyque; Mug: Kate Spade

Everybody should sleep at least six to seven hours per night. Otherwise our body cannot function the way it should. We are less concentrated, more hungry and tired throughout the whole day. Furthermore the immune system and also the skin suffers from a sleeping deficiency. But not only the hours of sleep you get are important, also the quality of your sleep is essential. On the photo above are some small things, which will improve your good night's sleep

4. Eat Well and Work Out

Last but not least, eat well and work out. Eating well does not mean you need to stick to a strict diet, only low-carb or whatsoever. It basically just means to have a balanced diet. Eat enough veggies and fruits, some carbs and proteins. Do not stress your body by not giving it the energy it needs. And don't forget to treat yourself every now and then. Life is so boring without delicious sweets, frozen margaritas, pancakes, indulgent breakfast in bed or a yummy burger with french fries every now and then (80% healthy - 20 % indulgent). Get your balanced diet from superfoods like avocado, chia seeds or coconut. (here are some healthy snack recipes)

Speaking of indulgence....check out some new delicious photos of Roka, 202 and Granger & Co.

Sport equipment: Running Shoes and Sports Bra: Nike; Bottle: Victoria's Secret; Thermal Spray: Avene; Sport tights: Reebook; Sport tank top: Juicy Couture; Pastel Hair Ties: H&M; Pro Performance Earphones: Puma
Sport should be included in your daily routine, even if it's just 20 minutes a day. Rather work out four times a week for a just a short time period instead of just once a week for hours. Combine cardio and strength training to improve your fitness level. For those who love running: run with motivating music, and download a Running App on your smartphone like Runtastic or the Nike-App to see results. (A nice sport outfit and good shoes are a must-have)

Some hotspots...

...for breakfast, lunch and a coffee break.

Lunch

I guess most of you were queuing to get a table at Polpo once. In the evening it's just horribly busy, but if you go during lunch time you will easily get a table. Especially during the week, on the weekend they just open around 12pm anyways. It's a nice place to enjoy good Italian food, reasonably priced. We ordered a pizza with mushrooms, smoked salmon, salad and sliced flank steak. Everything was super delicious and enough for two people (perfect to share).

Breakfast

I usually go there for drinks in the evening. The atmosphere is great, and they have some good cocktails at Dean Street Townhouse. But also during they day the restaurant/bar at Dean Street Townhouse is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious breakfast or lunch.

Egg White Omelette

Coffee break / Perfect place to study

Recently I am looking for new hotspots to study, as sitting at home can get quite dull after a while. Yumchaa in Tottenham Street seems to be the ideal place: they have a  lot of space, a big choice of cakes and sandwiches. Plus some very good coffee and even one of my favourite drinks: matcha latte. Furthermore they have big and small tables, where people sit around working on their laptops. The working environment is very nice, plus essentials like coffee and cake are not even a stone's throw away.
